Hi there! This is the ReadMe for PersonalSearch 1.0

Thanks for downloading. This version for is mainly designed for Windows. If you find

INSTALLATION:

In order to use the package at all, you will need a Java Runtime Enviroment.
You can download this from http://ip114.dkik.dk/Download/jre116-win32.zip

Run the "setup.bat" (find it in the directory where you uzipped the files)

In the folder "C:\UMsoft\PSearch\" you will find a batch file
named : "psearch.bat". Try clicking this. If you are able to start the
program this way, your system is set up correctly.

If you do not get any reaction, you will need to set a path to the Java
Runtime Environment:


***setting the PATH to jrew.exe in autoexec:***

In your C:\ folder (Usually named 'harddisk') there is a file 
called 'autoexec.bat'. if you right-click on this, you get a menu
with an item 'edit'. Click this.

Now you see the contents of autoexec.bat.

There should be a line describing the PATH, and it usually looks
something like this:

SET PATH=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;\C:\WINDOWS

If jrew.exe is placed in C:\Progra~1\JAVASOFT\JRE\1.1\bin, you add :

;C:\Program~1\JAVASOFT\JRE\1.1\bin

(The normal installation for jre should put jrew in that folder 
- else you have to find the path yourself - do a search on "jrew.exe")

Now the line should read something like this :

SET PATH=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;\C:\WINDOWS;C:\Program~1\JAVASOFT\JRE\1.1\bin

restart you computer and you're finished installing PersonalSearch 1.0
